5000 Letters
to the Governor in Support of
566! Everyone wants to know: What can we
do to help get the Governor to sign AB
566?
Today we convened a meeting of
mobilehome owner groups and posed the
question: How many cards and letters can
we get to the Governor in the next two
weeks? The answer: At least 5000! It is
an ambitious goal, but we know it is one that we
can meet. There are two steps to meeting this
goal.
First, we know some of you are
ready to send off letters to the Governor today,
and we hope you will do so. Your personal
letter to the Governor will help move us toward
this goal of 5000 cards and letters, and get his
immediate attention on this important
issue.
Below is a sample letter. You can
use it as is, or you can personalize it
further. The most important thing is to
get it to the Governor as quickly as
possible. We suggest faxing it if you have
access to a fax machine. (His fax number
is (916) 558-3160.) Otherwise, sending it by US
Mail is also effective.
Second, after
you've sent your letter, can you help us get
4999 more? In the next few days, GSMOL--along
with other groups--will be distributing
thousands of postcards to homeowners in parks
throughout the state, to get them signed by
homeowners and sent off to the Governor. If you
can help us distribute cards in your park or
elsewhere, let us know and we will arrange to
get you as many cards you think you can
use.

[Today's Date]
Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger State Capitol
Building Sacramento, CA 95814
Dear
Governor Schwarzenegger:
I am writing to
urge you to sign AB 566 (Nava), which would help
protect mobilehome owners who are facing the conversion of their mobilehome park
to condominiums.
The
bill makes clear that homeowners have a voice in
the conversion process and our local elected
officials can consider the views of homeowners
in determining whether the conversion should go
forward.
Please help protect our homes by
signing AB 566.
Sincerely,
[John
Doe]
